How to reach Seinäjoki?

The City of Seinäjoki is located in western Finland, about 350 km north of Helsinki. There are many possible ways to reach Seinäjoki, for instance: 

- Fly to Helsinki, take a train from Helsinki to Seinäjoki (2,5-3 h),

- Fly to Vaasa via Helsinki or Stockholm, take a train or a bus from Vaasa to Seinäjoki (1h),

International flights arrive to the Helsinki-Vantaa Airport (LINK). Easiest way to travel to Seinäjoki is to take a train from the Tikkurila railway station or from the Helsinki central railway station. It takes roughly three hours by train from Helsinki to Seinäjoki.

Airport Bus 61 takes you from the Helsinki-Vantaa Airport to the Tikkurila Railway Station (view the journey planner). Journey takes about 15-20 min and costs Eur 3. You can buy a single ticket from the driver. Please have small or exact change ready.

- Via Helsinki Railway Station (city central)

Finnair City Bus operates between the airport and Helsinki Central Station (depart every 20 minutes, view the schedule). Eur 6,50.

Airport Bus 615 operates between the airport and Helsinki Central Station (Bus number 620 during night time, view the journey planner). Eur 5.

A taxi from the airport to the Helsinki city centre takes about 30 minutes and costs around 45 to 50 euros.

All train connections departure from the Helsinki central station (city centre). The connection to Seinäjoki goes via Tikkurila railway station about 14 minutes after departure from the Helsinki central station. 


For national and international flights the closest airport is located in Vaasa (LINK), one hour by train from Vaasa to Seinäjoki.
